    While they may be considered a "boring" subject by some, landscapes are a staple in the art community. This months theme challenged the artists to recall landscapes from their travels or simply imagine one from their creativity.

  • Horse in Sport

    July 21st - August 19th, 2018

    Staying true to one of Midldeburg's central themes, AiM asked the artists to create works centering around the Horse in Sport. The artists created varieties of themed works, including polo, showing, jumping, racing, and more.

  • Light of Day

    June 16th - July 15th, 2018

    The Light of Day” is a phrase that is often used to reveal or confirm the existence of something that may not be known. It may be something that appears for the first time or has been tucked away and brought out into sight/reach.

    The artists created new works that they "revealed" to the world, thus they created works that had not yet seen the "light of day".

  • Rhapsody in Blue

    May 12th - June 10th, 2018

    The noted characteristics of “rhapsody” can be easily applied to visual art, as it has been to music and literature. It features a range of juxtaposed moods, that are “episodic, yet free flowing in structure”, intense, enthusiastic, ecstatic, expressive, spontaneous and improvisational

    Rhapsody in Blue inspired artists to capture the many different emotions associated with "rhapsody in blue" and translate them into their art.

  • FOCUS: Arts in Education​

    April 7th - May 6th, 2018

    FOCUS: Arts in Education worked with the pupils of Foxcroft, Middleburg Montessori, and Claude Thompson Elementary school to host the reception and show their exhibits.

    Distant lands arouse the senses and inspire visions of the road once traveled. These journeys are imprinted with embellished memories not to be forgotten, but to be shared with all.

    In this exhibition artists captured the different aspects of their journeys and transformed them into art.

  • Love in the Burg

    February 10th - February 28th, 2018

    Inspired by the Valentines holiday, the Middleburg Arts Council sponsored the February Exhibition at AiM. The artists were inspired to express "love" in different formats and mediums and produced a truly spectacular show.

  • January Jewels

    January 6th - February 4th, 2018

    A “jewel” has endless connotations. It is the glorious translucent colors, in its purest form, of gem stones that range from ruby red to emerald green to sapphire blue to the colorless, yet dazzling diamond. 

    In this January exhibition the artists were challenged to create works of art that embodied their own interpretations of a "jewel".
