Del Vacchio, Jaclyn-ConclusionHonorable Mention “Conclusion” is a linocut, hand printed in black ink, with a spot blue ink accent, on rice paper. “Conclusion” developed from a previous piece, “Observance”, which was a one-color linocut. The piece was inspired by the rise and fall in tides and it depicts the shift from isolation progressing into resolve. The print style includes different levels of “noise” as an artistic element. Bysshe, Stanley-Late BloomerWhile photographing songbirds in a field of Sunflowers I noticed this late bloomer. Actually, my first thought was that it looked like a periscope! There can be more than one focal point, or it can be an area of special interest. This fern was rescued after a spring wedding, and now it’s being saved again as a painting. It’s drying out from the heat indoors, and the leaves are dropping.
