Coleman_Karen_Common Persimmon_graphiteHonorable Mention I did this detailed graphite drawing as a study of the Persimmon Trees fruit’s characteristics prior to painting it in watercolor. I love the depth and atmosphere that can be accomplished with just a graphite pencil. Common Persimmon Graphite 15.5 x 13.5 $300 Karen Coleman | Ford, Gayle Isabellle-Portrait on Mi-TientesHonorable Mention I truly enjoy painting. But, my first love has always been drawing, and I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to create a drawing of this young woman. This is a charcoal drawing done on Mi-Tientes. Holdridge, Sherri-Asleep in the MeadowWhile hiking in Point Reyes, California, I came across this beautiful scene. I came across this deer sleeping in the middle of a meadow. Hopkins, Laura-Groundhog DayThis winter scene, like much of my work, is painted from memory, imagination, and study of the work of historic painters. I paint in the tradition of the American Tonalists of the 19th century whose contemplative and poetic works were thought to provide solace and respite from a war-torn and increasingly industrial world. It is my hope that viewers of my work find a place of rest and comfort. Groundhog Day Oil on linen wrapped panel 13.5 x 15.5 $350 Laura Hopkins | Hopkins, Laura-Late Winter TwilightThroughout my life I have been drawn to the subdued light and muted tones of winter.
