Bysshe, Stanley-You Are My SunshineBest in Show Sunflowers say summertime and also a feast for songbirds. Getting an Indigo Bunting to sit just in the right spot requires a lot of luck. Zhou, VIcky-The Welbourne Inn (005)Honorable Mention Charming historic Inn runs in the same family for generations. Welbourne Inn Watercolor 14 x 18 $450 Vicky Zhou | Arthur, Suzanne Lago-Harvesting Love, Rachel At Greenstone FieldsThis painting of Rachel harvesting flowers at the Greenstone Fields flower farm in Purcellville VA was inspired by the harvester paintings of Millet and other Naturalist painters. It is painted in a high key palette to preserve the feeling of a hot late summer day when Rachel was at work harvesting for that weeks’ farmer’s markets. Harvesting Love, Rachel at Greenstone Fields Oil on linen mounted on aluminum panel 17 x 12 $1,500 Suzanne Lago Arthur | Arthur, Suzanne Lago-SuchIsOurBlossomLifePainted on site at Meadowlark Gardens in Vienna, VA during the peak of Cherry Blossom season. Arthur, Suzanne Lago-To Begin Again, Garden PotI painted this from life in my friend’s garden. She has the most beautifully manicured potager style vegetable garden. This Italian clay pot was beautifully illuminated that day and caught my eye. I saw in that moment a tranquil domestic scene. One of my favorite subjects. To Begin Again, Garden Pot Oil on panel 9 x 7 $350 Suzanne Lago Arthur | Baker Michelle In The Barn Ink (003)This small black and white ink painting is a look into farm life. Animals are like family. There are times when you just sit down with them and have a talk, rest with them when they are sick or wait for a new arrival. This little scene plays out in barns throughout this region, this county and this country daily. I like that it is a bit messy because life is messy. The Barn Ink 13 x 16 $425 Michelle Baker | Baker Michelle Looking to the Mountains (003)Whether you are here or there, the Appalachian mountain range captures one's attention. Sitting at Blue Valley Winery in Delaplane, Virginia, looking at the Blue Ridge Mountains is Zen for me. I love trying to capture the mountain's moods in ink, acrylic or mixed media. This simple painting is a light wash of ink and watercolor. Looking at the Mountains Mixed media 8 x 10 $225 Michelle Baker |

The beauty and peaceful stillness of this fall day is what I wanted to convey with this impressionistic landscape. Meadowlark Memories Oil 14 x 16 $595 Jill Brabent |
Brabent, Jill-SummerTrellisSummer Trellis is all about capturing the light on petals on a Summer Day. The beauty of Ben Lomond inspired this painting—the old rose garden has a white trellis at this historic site. Built in 1837, this house sits within five miles of the site of the First and Second Battles of Manassas. Bysshe, Stanley-Scarlet TanagerOne of the most striking summer season birds in our area, the Scarlet Tanager spends most of its time in the forest canopy. This one apparently needed to declare its territory in the lower branches as well. Scarlet Tanager Color photography 20 x 24 $125 Stanley Bysshe | Clinton, Sharon-A Country Road in MIllwood at DuskI was captivated by the gentle colors and the atmosphere at dusk every time I drive home after a round of golf in Millwood. A Country Road in Millwood at Dusk Oil 11 x 14 $425 Sharon Clinton | CusterSheena_NewMountainRd_acryliconpanel (003)I recently moved to rural Aldie and am surrounded with views of farms, rolling hills, hundred-year old trees, and the Blue Ridge Mountains. I seized the visual fortune of my new neighborhood and painted "New Mountain Road" after a family walk. I incorporate geometry into my organic scenes so the power lines - with their parallels and diagonals- especially drew me into the scene. New Mountain Road Acrylic on panel 12 x 12 $350 Sheena Custer |
Eppard.Margo.Akenfield.Mayo.Brown's.Barn.Acrylic.Oil.Canvas (003)I am always struck by this classic red barn on Unison Road. The barn's geometric lines and angles juxtaposed in the rolling hills is both simplistic and impressive. I incorporated a folk art style for the built elements of the barn and fencing, with more loose brushwork for the landscape to balance the composition. Akenfield, Mayo Brown’s Barn, Unison, VA Acrylic with oil on canvas 19 x 23 $200 Margo Eppard | Ferri, Michele-Courtyard SplendorA local courtyard of a grand estate in the splendor of a spring bloom. Courtyard Splendor Oil on board 17 x 14 $375 Michele Ferri | Ferri, Michele-Backyard PeoniesOne doesn’t always have to venture far to view a beautiful bloom. Ford Gayle _Misty's Stall' Watercolor (003)This stall was occupied by an adorable paint pony who belonged to a sweet young girl. Misty’s Stall Watercolor 22.25 x 23.5 $725 Gayle Ford | Furneaux, Pam-Bronze Hill MorningThe morning light on a graceful old stone barn caught my eye and inspired me to capture the serenity of a quiet moment. This barn is part of a beautiful historic property nestled among gentle hills and was a joy to paint. Bronze Hill Morning Oil 12 x 14 $275 Pam Furneaux | Giraldi, Angela-Barn in Wine Country (003)This was painted from a sketch done at one of Loudoun Sketch Club paint outs. Wine Country Barn Watercolor 24 x 19 $300 Angela Giraldi |

The color was amazing! Bountiful Buttercups Oil 26 x 30 $1,200 Lorrie Herman | Hindle Stuart Burwell Morgan Mill sml (003)My family and I have had many a picnic next to this Mill. The area of Millwood is a little haven that seems to take us back in time when life was slower and one could take a moment to relax. Burwell-Morgan Mill (Millwood, VA) Oil on canvas 15.5 x 19.5 $650 Stuart Hindle | Hindle Stuart Dogwood Lane (003)As I walked down the lane, the colors of spring seemed to burst out against the dark shadows and the evergreens. Golden Fields (Banshee Reeks Nature Preserve) Oil on canvas 22 x 28 $1,100 Stuart Hindle | Holdridge, Sherri-Heading Off to the StartThis collection of work was photographed this past Spring at the Virginia Gold Cup Races on a cold, wet day. Many of my images were out of focus due to my lens fogging up. At first I dismissed them but as I continued to browse my images I was drawn to their softness, texture and color. If a Road Could Talk Watercolor 18 x 22 $850 Catherine Zimmerman | Henry, Cathy Suiter-Reflections in a Gallery Window (003)I’m fascinated by reflections and transparent objects. The images transform one’s perspective and sense of reality. Here you assume there is no fire hydrant in an art gallery but is there? Some of the reflections are superimposed over objects in the window. The reflections of the buildings are skewed. Maybe I just simply like to play with peoples’ minds.
