 Best in Show I began painting this piece with a monochromatic underpainting, using cool tones to create a dreamlike look. Then, I applied several thin, transparent glazes and finished with opaque color brushstrokes.  Honorable Mention This happy chap is displaying his wisdom and style going fishing for some quality time. He is hand built using the coiling and hand sculpting method. The finish is a so called cold finish (acrylic)and the fishing rod is made from beads. He also likes to stay indoors and is not suitable for outdoor display.  The Tang Horse features an ornate horse figurine that is intricately detailed, with a regal stance, one front leg slightly raised and its head turned to the side.  This is a Giclee Paper Print framed in a black thick frame. Horses and Hounds are a subject that I spend a lot of time with. I always love how expressive the hounds are. And these three captured my attention as they stood almost intertwined by each other. I also was attracted to the highlight of the White and the depth of the Browns.  I took this photograph of Dr.Joe Rogers who was the Master of the Loudoun Hunt for many years. I think this picture shows how much he loved the sport and especially this favorite hound.  In the 4th race of the 2025 Virginia Fall Races, 16 year old Mystic Strike and his 6 year old cousin Hard Strike broke from the field and the older horse won.
